As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0, Bengaluru's Central City Corporation recently hosted community street plays. These engaging performances took place at three key locations, including Church Street, near Lalbagh West Gate, and near the Indiranagar KFC bus stop. The primary goal was to raise public awareness regarding crucial environmental issues.
The campaign emphasized the importance of cleanliness, effective waste segregation, reducing single-use plastic, and the necessity of water conservation. Officials highlighted how garbage dumping black spots mar the city's appearance and pose significant sanitation risks.
During an event at Church Street, Commissioner Rajendra Cholan encouraged citizens, NGOs, and welfare associations to partner with the civic body. He stressed that collective effort is vital to transform Bengaluru into a cleaner, more beautiful, and healthier urban center. Participants also took a pledge to support improved waste management and overall city cleanliness.
