A tigress in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve underwent a successful operation to remove a malfunctioning radio collar. The tracking device had stopped transmitting for several days, prompting a widespread search effort across approximately 100 square kilometers. Forest teams utilized trained elephants, camera traps, and specialized equipment to locate the animal.
After days of searching, the tigress was found within her home range on July 12. Following approval, a plan was implemented to tranquilize her safely. Veterinarians examined the tigress after removing the faulty collar and confirmed she was in good health. She was then released back into her natural habitat.
