The persistent mechanical drone from the plant has rendered the ancestral home uninhabitable, forcing the family to leave their longtime residence. The property now sits largely abandoned, overshadowed by the industrial hum.

This power plant is part of a larger infrastructure project for Musk's data operations. Residents of Southaven are raising significant concerns about unmanageable noise and air pollution impacting their community. A local grassroots coalition highlights that the plant borders homes, churches, parks, and schools. They are advocating for transparency, regulatory accountability, and the community's right to clean air, quiet nights, and responsible development.
