On Saturday, Yakshagana Kalaranga marked a significant achievement by donating its 92nd house to a deserving family in Udyavara, Udupi. The newly constructed residence, christened Nanda Deepa, was generously sponsored by M Gangadhara Rao, the president of Yakshagana Kalaranga and managing director of Nandakumar Associates.
This heartwarming initiative directly benefits Yajna, an Intermediate Public Examination student and daughter of Kusuma and Krishna. She is enrolled in the Yakshagana Kalaranga Vidya Poshak scheme, which supports students' educational pursuits. The house was formally inaugurated by Sri Vishwavallabha Thirta of Sode Mutt.
During the ceremony, Sri Vishwavallabha Thirta lauded M Gangadhara Rao's philanthropic efforts, describing him as a model president and philanthropist dedicated to social welfare. He emphasized that leaders who actively engage in service strengthen societal values and public trust. This marks Rao's sixth sponsored house through the organization.
Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, who presided over the event, commended Yakshagana Kalaranga for its exemplary and disciplined functioning. M Gangadhara Rao expressed his happiness in being associated with the organization and praised its social commitment, underscoring the collective impact of their endeavors.
