Founded initially as the Bombay Presidency Women Graduates Union, it has consistently championed women's empowerment through education and skill-building. The Union's commitment is evident in its working women's hostel, which provides accommodation for over 100 women in 80 rooms, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for those earning between Rs 15,0000 and Rs 50,000 monthly.
Beyond scholarships and housing, the Union operates a counselling and guidance centre offering sessions on mental health, stress management, and mindfulness. It also supports children's education through a study centre and a balwadi for toddlers, reinforcing its role in holistic women's and children's development.
