In a significant move, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved a Rs 13.50 crore project to set up high-tech digital studios in 27 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) across the state. The initiative is part of a larger effort to upgrade these DIETs as Centers of Excellence, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines.
The digital studios will enable teachers from council schools to record educational videos on various subjects, which will then be circulated to all schools. This is expected to enhance the academic environment and significantly improve teacher-training capabilities, allowing students to understand topics in a more engaging and interactive manner.
The project is part of a broader infrastructure development program underway at the DIETs. Multiple facilities, including an administrative building, academic block, library, computer room, laboratory, seminar hall, special education unit, and a research and innovation center, are currently under construction. The addition of the digital studios is set to further elevate the learning experience for both students and teachers.
The Central government has selected 27 DIETs in Uttar Pradesh for development in two phases, with the first phase covering locations such as Prayagraj, Lucknow, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur, among others. The second phase will focus on DIETs in Azamgarh, Bareilly, and Kanpur, among other cities.
