To check payment status, students should use the PFMS portal's "Know Your Payments" feature. A "Payment Success" status indicates the money has been credited, even if SMS alerts are delayed. "Payment under Process" suggests the transaction is ongoing, while "No Record Found" means the student is not part of the current file.

Common issues causing DBT failure include Aadhaar seeding mismatches, incomplete bank KYC, or closed accounts. Errors in college or district-level data, such as name or income certificate mismatches, can also halt payments. Students must address these issues promptly via their institutions.
