UP Govt Reopens Scholarship Portal for 3 Lakh Students

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken steps to rectify technical issues that prevented students from receiving their Post-Matric Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement during the 2025-26 financial year. An official statement confirmed that the Social Welfare Department will reopen the scholarship portal.
The portal will be accessible from September 1, allowing eligible students to apply for the aid they were previously unable to access. This measure is expected to benefit over 3.16 lakh students who missed out in the last fiscal year.
Students enrolled in private institutions formed the largest group affected by the technical glitches, with 2,46,426 students from such institutions missing out. Government and government-aided institutions also saw students impacted, accounting for 31,836 and 37,795 students respectively.
The scholarship funds are scheduled to be transferred to the bank accounts of eligible students between September 29 and October 2. Social Welfare Minister of State (Independent Charge) Asim Arun emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring all eligible students receive scholarships.
