Across all 181 government arts and science colleges, BA Tamil has emerged as the most popular course, receiving over two lakh applications. BSc Computer Science and BCom (General) follow closely. The admission process is ongoing for the 1.25 lakh seats, with the last date to apply being May 29. Registrations have seen a significant number of female applicants.
Principals highlight the strong academic offerings and facilities. Presidency College boasts excellent lab facilities and PhD-holding faculty, while Govt Arts College in Nandanam has seen increased interest since becoming co-educational. Admissions are expected to commence in the first week of June based on merit lists.
