Major Boost: Telangana Medical Colleges Gain 60 Super-Specialty Seats

For the upcoming 2025-26 academic year, Telangana's medical colleges have been sanctioned 60 new postgraduate super-specialty seats. This significant development, announced by the National Medical Commission (NMC), includes approvals for both new courses and increased intake in Doctor of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch) programs.
Government medical institutions in Telangana will benefit from 38 of these seats. Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad received 7 seats, and Gandhi Medical College in Secunderabad was granted 3 seats. Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal secured 10 seats across various disciplines. The Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad received the largest share among government colleges, with 16 seats allocated.
In the private sector, R.V.M. Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre in Siddipet is the largest beneficiary, with 22 seats approved. These seats span multiple super-specialty fields, aiming to enhance advanced medical training within the state.
