Tanvi, who studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, opted for a less conventional career path, seeking to encourage exploration beyond typical engineering or medical fields.
Her training took place at T.S. Chanakya, a government-affiliated maritime institute. Tanvi has now secured a placement with the Laurel Ship Management Company and is set to join in August. Her path was challenging, involving travel to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Goa for various examinations. She also navigated initial hesitation from her family and limited access to study materials.
Tanvi credits her mother's unwavering support and her school principal's motivation for her success. She emphasizes the importance of inner passion and determination for achieving goals. Tanvi is believed to be the first girl from the Pir Panjal region of Jammu and Kashmir to reach this achievement. She hopes her story will inspire more young individuals, particularly girls, to pursue careers in the Merchant Navy and other emerging sectors.
