2 Mar
Summary
- 93.2% of Staffordshire pupils secured their first-choice secondary school.
- Nearly all pupils received one of their top three school preferences.
- Staffordshire's figures improved from the previous year's allocations.

For the September intake, nine out of ten pupils in Staffordshire have successfully secured their first-choice secondary school. Specifically, 93.2% of the 8,111 current Year 6 learners were allocated their preferred school, with an outstanding 99% receiving one of their top three options. These figures demonstrate a notable improvement compared to the previous year, when 91.6% of pupils were granted their preferred school.
The success is attributed to the diligent work of the local admissions team, who collaborated closely with schools and neighboring councils. Parents also played a crucial role by submitting their applications on time and listing three preferences, actions that significantly aid the allocation process. Nationally, approximately 83% of pupils received their first-choice secondary school in 2025, placing Staffordshire's achievement notably higher.
Offer letters and emails are being sent to parents, detailing the necessary steps to confirm or reject a school place. The upcoming National Primary Offer Day is scheduled for 16 April.
