India's social sector is undergoing a significant evolution, transitioning from traditional charity models to rights-based frameworks focused on measurable outcomes. This shift is driven by increasing influences of social entrepreneurship, impact investing, and ESG principles.
In response, SPJIMR has revamped its Post Graduate Programme in Development Management (PGPDM), opening applications for Batch 28 in February 2027. This program, uniquely holding Triple Crown accreditation, aims to develop leaders for sustainable social change.
The revised curriculum strengthens key areas: ESG, AI for Development, Social Entrepreneurship, and Public Policy. To accommodate working professionals, flexible online schedules and updated evaluation methods have been introduced, alongside expanded elective offerings and new experiential labs.
A notable addition is the year-long Social Impact Project, a joint initiative with full-time management participants, fostering cross-sector collaboration. SPJIMR is also moving to a single annual intake each February, consolidating cohorts for enhanced networking and dialogue.
As PGPDM enters its 16th year, alumni achievements highlight its impact, with graduates leading significant changes in social ventures and organizations. The program aims to instill vision and confidence for driving systemic change in development challenges.
