The College of Nursing at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) celebrated a dual occasion recently. The 16th batch of BSc nursing students participated in their lamp lighting and oath-taking ceremony, a rite of passage for aspiring nurses. Simultaneously, the college marked its 17th foundation day with an event held at the CV Raman Auditorium.
During the ceremony, 64 first-year BSc nursing students lit the lamp of wisdom and took a solemn pledge. This significant commitment was guided by nursing superintendent Manju Singh and tutor Alice Joseph. The program was skillfully coordinated by associate professor Dr Anju Verma and tutor Matadeen.
SGPGIMS director Prof RK Dhiman graced the occasion with his presence. Following a welcome by Dr Anju Verma, professor-cum-principal Dr Radha K delivered the annual report for 2024-25. The report detailed the college's academic progress, ongoing research initiatives, and valuable outreach activities.
