Ranchi Schools Revise Schedules as Winter Nears
22 Oct
Summary
- Several Ranchi schools considering changing class timings
- Bishop Westcott Girls' School already adjusted schedule
- Schools waiting for official directive before making changes

As of October 22nd, 2025, the weather in Ranchi, the state capital, has taken a turn, prompting several schools to consider changing their class timings. The Bishop Westcott Girls' School in Namkum has already made the switch, with a notice to parents stating that class timings have been changed to 8 am to 2:30 pm from Monday to Friday, and until 11:45 am on Saturdays. The school has also advised students to wear half-sleeve cardigans or light fleece jackets in black or navy blue until the full winter uniform is introduced on November 1st.
Other schools, however, are taking a wait-and-see approach. The principal of Euro Kids Play School, Anupama Sinha, said that their revised schedules will come into effect once classes resume after the upcoming holidays. Meanwhile, schools like Firayalal Public School and Kairali School have decided to hold off on making any changes until they receive an official directive from the district administration.
One parent, Rina Verma, has already noticed the chill in the morning and evening air, requiring an extra layer when going out. She anticipates that this winter could be particularly harsh, necessitating the need for schools to adapt their schedules and dress codes accordingly.
