Prince George Faces 'Colors Test' at Elite School

Prince George is set to begin his education at Eton College this September, marking a significant transition as he moves from day pupil to a full boarding student. Unlike some other boarding schools, Eton enforces a strict policy of individual study-bedrooms, ensuring each boy has private space and learns self-discipline. This move means George will only return home for weekends and holidays from the school, which is a short drive from his family's residence.

Eton College is currently undertaking substantial renovations to its sports facilities. The Eton Sports & Aquatics Centre, named Athens, was completed in 2023, and the plans also include a new golf simulator and a rifle range. These developments come as the school charges an annual tuition fee of £65,000, while also actively seeking charitable donations for its projects.

Upon arrival, Prince George will face a challenging initiation known as the 'colours test.' This entails memorizing the locations of school buildings and the official colors of Eton's 25 boarding houses, a task administered by senior peers with limited preparation time. This rigorous introduction is part of the academic and disciplinary environment at the esteemed institution.
