22 Aug
Summary
- 280 teachers will be trained as master trainers.
- The initiative aims to educate 76,000 students.
- Focus on forests, wildlife, and natural resource conservation.

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) is set to train 280 government school teachers, transforming them into "master trainers" for environmental awareness. This program will equip educators to teach students about forests, wildlife, and the vital conservation of air, water, and soil. The trained teachers will subsequently reach out to an estimated 76,000 students in 939 upper primary government schools throughout the district.
The initiative is designed to extend environmental education beyond the classroom. It seeks to involve teachers, students, their parents, and extended families in conservation activities. Approximately 40 teachers will be selected from each of the district's seven development blocks to participate in the training sessions. This effort aligns with the state government's "bag-less day" scheme, promoting extracurricular learning.
