9 Oct
Summary

- Initiative uses QR codes for students to seek help or report issues.
- Program focuses on early intervention and peer support networks.
Khanna police launched 'Operation Kawach' on Friday to prevent drug abuse among college students across Ludhiana. This initiative, conceived by SSP Darpan Ahluwalia and launched by DIG Sandeep Goel, focuses on early intervention and peer support.
The program operates on three pillars: connect, detect, and protect. The 'connect' pillar encourages students to form supportive peer networks linked with civil and police mentors. This creates a trusted structure for students.
The 'detect' pillar utilizes 'Kawach QR Codes,' allowing students to anonymously report personal difficulties, concerns about peers, or suspected drug activity and unsafe environments. This feature offers a safe voice.
The 'protect' pillar ensures timely support and intervention by channeling reported information to designated mentors for an appropriate response. The objective is to reach students before drugs do.
