NMC Revises MBBS Seats: Warning Issued to Colleges

NMC has issued a stern caution to medical colleges and counselling bodies, forbidding admissions beyond the formally approved seat limits.
Failure to adhere to these directives will be considered a violation of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and may result in significant regulatory and penal consequences. Private colleges that have received approval for new seats or increased intake but have not yet submitted their electronic bank guarantee are given seven days to comply.
Students and counselling authorities must now monitor the NMC website for any subsequent revisions to the seat matrix. The NMC urges all medical colleges to meticulously verify their details in the latest matrix and report any discrepancies promptly to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) before counselling begins.
