The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) and Netflix have launched a significant initiative to empower India's creative sector. One hundred scholarships are now available for students and professionals across the nation, offering substantial financial aid of up to 80% for specialized programs.
These programs span critical areas such as animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and media technology. The collaboration, backed by the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, aims to cultivate a robust pipeline of creative talent within India.
Netflix's involvement extends to curriculum enhancement, notably for Visual Effects Mastery and Media Tech Workflow courses. This ensures educational content reflects the latest industry practices and technological advancements.
The initiative supports six IICT programs: two one-year diplomas in Interactive Comics & Sequential Arts and Visual Effects Mastery, alongside four six-month certificates in Virtual Art Department Content Creation, Media Tech Workflow, Art of Character Animation, and E-Sports & Gaming Management.
This partnership underscores a shared vision to advance India's creative economy, equipping emerging storytellers with essential skills for the global AVGC-XR industry and fostering innovation in content creation.
