NEET UG Seat Allotment Delayed by PwD Certificate Glitch
22 Aug
Summary
- NEET UG Round 1 seat allotment result revised due to PwD certificate error.
- Grievance facility reopened for candidates with concerns about the revised result.
- 29,945 MBBS and BDS seats were allotted in the NEET UG Round 1.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is preparing to release the final NEET UG Round 1 seat allotment result. This follows a revision of the provisional allotment list due to an error in uploading a PwD certificate by the Primary Assessment Centre. The number of seats allocated in Round 1, which includes 29,945 MBBS and BDS seats, remains unchanged.
The MCC has reopened the candidate grievance facility on its official website. Candidates who received provisional seat allotments and have concerns regarding the revised result can submit their grievances. The revised provisional result was issued after the PwD certificate error was identified. The final seat allotment result is expected around August 21, after the grievance redressal process is complete.
This PwD certificate issue comes as the National Medical Commission (NMC) has revised rules for PwBD admissions in MBBS courses. Medical assessment boards must now issue detailed written orders regarding candidate assessments, which can be challenged. This revised process is in effect for the current NEET UG counselling, impacting admissions for candidates under the PwBD category.
