NEET SS Seats: Resignation Window Opens!

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has introduced a unique one-time provision for candidates who secured seats in Round 1 of the NEET SS counselling 2025. This exceptional measure allows eligible participants to resign from their allotted seats without any penalty, meaning their security deposit will be retained. The designated period for this special resignation process is from July 31 to August 4, 2026. Candidates are required to physically visit their respective allotted colleges to finalize the resignation and collect their original academic documents.

The MCC has emphasized that this relaxation is being granted solely under specific, exceptional circumstances and must not be interpreted as a precedent for future counselling sessions. The committee further clarified that the resignation must be officially recorded online by the college authorities via the MCC portal; any offline resignations will be considered invalid. The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has applauded this decision, anticipating it will significantly benefit affected candidates and urging adherence to the timeline.
