The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will release the NEET PG 2026 city intimation slip on August 11, 2026. This slip will inform candidates about their allotted examination city ahead of the August 30, 2026, exam date. The admit card will be available on August 27, 2026.
A record 2,73,183 candidates have registered for NEET PG 2026, a 12.5% increase from the previous year. The examination will be conducted in 340 cities across more than 1,300 specialized test centers. The exam pattern has been updated, with the number of multiple-choice questions reduced from 200 to 180, and the total marks decreased from 800 to 720.
India currently offers 86,360 postgraduate medical seats. The NMC has sanctioned 9,084 new PG seats for the 2025-26 cycle, with an additional 5,000 seats planned. Key states like Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana have the highest number of seats. Individual scorecards and merit ranks are expected in October 2026, followed by counseling registration.
