NCC Cadets Train for Republic Day Glory

The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-13) and the Republic Day Camp (RDC-I) group-level selection camp commenced on July 22 at the Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) in Moodubidire. This 10-day event, concluding on July 31, has gathered 610 NCC cadets from various institutions within the Mangaluru group. The camp aims to instill values such as leadership, discipline, and national service while identifying candidates for the Republic Day Camp.
During the opening, Lt Col Rohith Prakash Rai emphasized the NCC's core values. He encouraged cadets to fully engage with the camp's opportunities. Lt Col Nithin Narayan and Subedar Major Yam Bahadur Rana also addressed the attendees, promoting high conduct and team spirit.
The training regimen encompasses drill, weapon handling, map reading, physical fitness, and leadership development. Cadets will also engage in cultural activities and competitions. The camp is supported by a dedicated staff of 25 permanent instructors, an associate NCC officer, and eight civilian personnel, ensuring a comprehensive training experience.
