A district-level committee has been constituted in Biharsharif, Nalanda, to identify, document, and digitize ancient manuscripts. This crucial step, chaired by District Magistrate Kundan Kumar, falls under the Gyan Bharatam Mission, aligning with the 'Viksit Bharat @2047' vision and the Digital India initiative. Officials from all concerned departments are directed to prioritize the listing and digitization of manuscripts held by various institutions, including government and private entities, monasteries, temples, educational establishments, public libraries, and private owners.
The digitized collection will be uploaded to the Gyan Bharatam portal, ensuring the long-term preservation of this historical heritage. Furthermore, the Gyan Bharatam app and portal will allow individuals to directly upload manuscripts. This move aims to make invaluable historical records accessible to scholars, students, and the general public, fostering wider engagement with the past.
