In September 2025, Nagpur resident Shiva Raju is set to join the Indian Army as a commissioned officer after completing one year of training at the Officers' Training Academy (OTA) in Gaya. Shiva's journey reflects his lifelong dedication to serving in the armed forces.
A former student of BKVV School in Nagpur, Shiva recently graduated with an engineering degree from Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, also in Nagpur. To prepare for his military career, Shiva honed his skills under the guidance of Lt Col M.P. Deshpande through The Forces Foundation. He also joined SPI Aurangabad, a renowned institute for preparing students for defense careers.
Shiva's family, including his artist father Ajay Kumar Raju and homemaker mother Saroj Raju, as well as his elder brother Dipanshu Raju who works in the private sector, have expressed immense pride in Shiva's achievement. They have also extended heartfelt gratitude to Lt Col Deshpande and SPI Aurangabad for their mentorship and support in helping Shiva realize his dream of serving in the Indian Army.
