Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College (MRMC) in Kalaburagi is set to host its convocation ceremony for the 2026-27 MBBS batch on Saturday. A total of 140 medical graduates will be awarded their degrees and take the Charaka Oath, pledging their commitment to ethical medical practice.
This graduating class boasts significant achievements, with 12 students receiving gold medals and 73 attaining First Class honors, reflecting an impressive overall pass percentage of 95.48%. The Hyderabad Karnataka Education (HKE) Society, which runs MRMC, has been actively expanding academic opportunities.
Recently, the HKE Society introduced a Bachelor of Physiotherapy program and six undergraduate Allied Health Sciences courses, including Anaesthesia, Radiology, and Medical Laboratory Technology. These initiatives aim to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.
Furthermore, MRMC's Basaveshwar Teaching and General Hospital has undergone substantial modernization. Upgrades include advanced Intensive Care Units and state-of-the-art modular operation theatres. Construction of a new hospital block is also underway, which will add eight more operation theatres.
