Summary
- MLA HT Manju closed his private school to revive his alma mater.
- Haralaly government school reopened in the 2025-26 academic year.
- The revived school offers quality education comparable to private institutions.

In an inspiring move for public education, KR Pet MLA HT Manju has successfully revived the Haralaly government higher primary school, the same institution where he received his early education. The MLA took the significant step of closing his private school in Neethimangala, transferring its students to the Haralaly facility.
This action was prompted by the government school's near permanent closure due to insufficient enrollment over nearly two years. Following his election in May 2023, Manju ensured the school reopened and became functional for the 2025-26 academic year, attracting around 40 students.
The revived Haralaly school now boasts experienced teachers appointed by the government and offers educational standards and facilities comparable to private institutions. The MLA plans to further strengthen enrollment by establishing 'Makkala Mane' (children's homes) and pre-primary sections with community support.
