The state education department has released a subject-wise timetable for Grades III, IV, and VI, clarifying the weekly teaching schedule under the revised curriculum. The academic year will consist of 237 working days.
This includes 210 days for classroom teaching, 14 for examinations, and 13 for co-curricular activities. The timetable specifies weekly periods for subjects like Marathi, regional languages, and mathematics.
Teachers and principals expressed relief and preparedness with the timetable's release, enabling them to structure lessons effectively. The new framework will be mandatory for Grades III, IV, and VI, with plans to extend it to other grades.
Maharashtra is progressively rolling out its new school curriculum, developed by Balbharati, in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, with further phases planned through 2029.
