Madhubani district has secured the first position in Bihar for its exceptional performance in the national "Gyan Bharatam Mission." This initiative focuses on the survey, verification, and digitization of manuscripts. During a high-level virtual review meeting, Madhubani reported an impressive 3,96,487 verified and approved manuscripts.
This achievement places Madhubani significantly ahead of Gaya district, which ranked second with 1,11,398 manuscripts. The success is attributed to the combined efforts of the district administration, various government departments, academicians, researchers, and active local citizen participation.
DM Anand Sharma commended the collective effort and urged residents to continue contributing to this heritage conservation campaign. He encouraged individuals and institutions possessing old handwritten manuscripts to ensure their identification and digitization, thereby safeguarding cultural heritage.
