In an effort to promote intellectual and creative growth among students, the basic education department in Lucknow is organizing the Shri Aurobindo National History Essay Competition 2025. The competition, which runs from November 10 to December 15, is open to students enrolled in state-run schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs).
The competition aims to inspire patriotism, self-expression, and a deeper understanding of India's history and culture. Students in classes 7, 8, and 9 will have the opportunity to express their thoughts, language abilities, and sensitive understanding of the country's past. The essay topics will highlight unsung heroes of the freedom struggle, India's cultural renaissance, the preservation of ancient heritage, and the great personalities who contributed to nation-building.
The initiative is supported by the Union Ministry of Culture and the Foundation for Indian Historical and Cultural Research. Basic education minister Sandeep Singh believes the competition will "inspire students to develop an interest in writing and help them recognize India's history as a living source of inspiration." The Director General of School Education, Monika Rani, sees this as an important step towards promoting quality education, innovation, and creativity in the state.
