Lee Educators "Thrive" at Learning Conference

The Accelerate Learning Conference, themed "Thrive in Lee: Strong Roots, Limitless Growth," recently brought together over 400 educators from Lee County Schools. This two-day professional learning event aimed to equip teachers, administrators, and staff with innovative strategies and practical resources for the upcoming school year. The conference was structured around five pillars: curriculum, instruction, environment, evaluation, and operations.

Participants engaged in over 80 sessions exploring emerging technologies, instructional best practices, and educator well-being. Highlights included sessions on artificial intelligence tools for lesson planning and student creativity, alongside workshops on literacy, math, science, and classroom management. A significant focus was placed on supporting all learners, with sessions dedicated to multilingual learner supports, autism awareness, gifted education, and exceptional children services.

The conference also emphasized building positive relationships and prioritizing educator well-being. Topics covered self-regulation, mentoring, classroom culture, family partnerships, and work-life balance. Assistant Superintendent Natalie Kelly stated that investing in educators directly benefits students, fostering strong roots for limitless growth. Additional sessions offered certifications in specialized areas like Foundations of Math and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, underscoring the district's commitment to continuous improvement and human capital development.
