LATC Nursing Center Earns Top Simulation Accreditation

Lake Area Technical College (LATC) has earned provisional accreditation for its Nursing Simulation Center, a significant achievement in healthcare education. The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) awarded this distinction, widely recognized as the gold standard for such programs.

The accreditation acknowledges LATC's excellence in both Core Standards and Teaching/Education Standards. This places LATC among a select group, as it is only the third institution in South Dakota to receive SSH simulation accreditation.

Center Director Amber Schleusner highlighted that this accreditation validates the faculty and staff's dedication. Simulation provides a crucial, safe environment for students to apply classroom knowledge, learn from experiences, and build confidence before engaging with real patients.
