The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) has launched an extensive robotics training program for all Class 10 students across the state. This initiative aims to equip approximately 4.5 lakh students with crucial modern technology skills, focusing on practical, hands-on learning to prepare them for future career opportunities.
The program, managed through the Little KITES network, is integrated with the Class 10 syllabus. It introduces students to fundamental robotics concepts, including sensors, microcontrollers, and actuators, and provides familiarity with components like Arduino UNO boards and LEDs. The training is designed with a favorable student-to-kit ratio to ensure effective engagement.
Further sessions delve into block-based coding using PictoBlox software, allowing students to program basic robotic functions. Conducted by trained Little KITES members, the workshops are scheduled to be completed by January 15. KITE intends to leverage high-tech labs to ensure all participating students gain proficiency in robotics, a field of increasing global importance.
