Kent Schools Plan Major Merger for September

Two schools in Medway, Kent, are set to undergo a significant merger as part of a new proposal by the Beyond Schools Trust. The plan involves combining Walderslade School and Greenacre School, aiming to further strengthen their established partnership and foster an inclusive educational setting. This initiative is currently open for public consultation, allowing stakeholders to voice their opinions.

The trust spokesperson highlighted that the merger seeks to enhance collaboration and deliver a forward-thinking learning experience for students. Head teacher Louise Campbell expressed pride in the progress made, viewing the proposal as an ambitious step forward for the students and the wider community. An information evening is scheduled for December 17th to discuss the proposals further.

If approved, the merger will officially take place from September of next year. The consultation period is a crucial step, ensuring that the views of parents, staff, governors, and the local community are considered before the final decision is made regarding the future structure of these educational institutions.
