Applications for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 commenced on October 31st, with the deadline for the January session registration on November 27th. Candidates have until November 27th to submit their application fees. NTA initially announced an onscreen calculator for the computer-based test, but has since clarified that this feature is part of a generic testing platform and will not be available for JEE Main 2026. This clarification addresses potential confusion among applicants regarding exam day tools.
The JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two phases, mirroring previous years. The first session is scheduled from January 1 to 30, 2026, followed by the second session from April 1 to 10, 2026. The examination covers Paper 1 for BE/BTech and Paper 2 for BArch/BPharm. Candidates are permitted to select up to four cities for their exam centers, with the NTA retaining the right to reallocate centers if necessary for administrative reasons.
Prior to application, candidates were urged by NTA to ensure their Aadhaar card, UDID card, and relevant category certificates are updated and valid to prevent future discrepancies. Historical data indicates a consistent registration and appearance rate in past JEE Main sessions, with a notable increase in total registrations from 2022 to 2023, highlighting the exam's continued significance for engineering aspirants in India.
