Indore is embracing a unique 'Read, Reuse, Repeat' initiative by establishing RRR Libraries within government schools across the city. The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) inaugurated the first library at Govt Sharda Girls' School, featuring approximately 2,100 books. This program is an extension of the ongoing RRR campaign, which began on September 1, 2026.
Through the RRR campaign, residents can deposit unwanted books and plastic items at designated centers and receive various plant species in return. This initiative aims to cultivate a reading habit among students and promote book reuse and knowledge sharing. The collected materials are transformed into valuable educational resources for more students, diverting them from becoming waste.
RRR Libraries have also been established in several other government schools, including Government Urdu School and Government Girls Higher Secondary School No. 5. As of the report, the IMC has collected 1,310 kg of plastic and 18,503 books, while distributing 5,077 plants. This demonstrates an enthusiastic public response to the environmental and educational efforts.
