India's ancient wisdom meets AI: New BTech course launched

Central Sanskrit University has initiated a BTech program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, commencing with the 2026-27 academic session at its Nashik campus. This AICTE-approved course is designed to merge advanced technological fields with Sanskrit and Indian languages. The curriculum focuses on developing novel AI tools tailored for Indian languages, alongside accelerating the digitization and preservation of ancient Indian texts and manuscripts.

In parallel, Nalanda University has reintroduced the age-old Indian tradition of 'Shastrarth,' or scholarly debates, as part of its convocation ceremonies. This practice emphasizes a disciplined approach to dialogue, debate, and deep contemplation, requiring participants to support their arguments with logic and facts while respectfully considering opposing viewpoints. The initiative has seen significant participation from international students, highlighting its relevance across diverse cultures.
