India Shines: 5 Golds at Physics Olympiad!

India has achieved a historic clean sweep at the 56th International Physics Olympiad, held in Bucaramanga, Colombia, from July 5-12. All five students representing India have secured gold medals, a remarkable accomplishment that positions the nation jointly at the top of the medals table.

This stellar performance sees India sharing the first place with China, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Korea, and Taiwan. The competition featured 381 students from 85 countries. The contingent's success is particularly noteworthy as this is only the second time in the Olympiad's history that all five Indian participants have earned gold medals, with the previous instance occurring in 2018.

The theoretical examination included complex topics like paramagnetic cooling and light patterns, while the experimental part tested fluid thermodynamics and heat transfer. The Indian students demonstrated exceptional skill in both components, preparing through intensive training camps at HBCSE. This accomplishment underscores India's growing strength in science education and competitive examination participation.
