As Constitution Day approaches on November 26, 2025, India prepares for a significant nationwide observance. Nearly 2.63 lakh Panchayats are set to read the Preamble of the Constitution in their respective local languages, marking Samvidhan Diwas with a unified voice.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is spearheading this extensive initiative, involving all tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Rural Local Bodies. Beyond mass readings, the day will feature discussions, seminars, and quizzes aimed at deepening understanding of constitutional values. A unique Preamble Reading Relay, broadcast live, will connect communities across states and union territories.
States and Union Territories are encouraged to facilitate community art projects, such as 'Preamble Walls,' and organize local gatherings with youth and community groups. This widespread engagement, supported by various state departments and networks, aims to ensure broad participation, especially in PESA areas, reinforcing the importance of constitutional principles at the grassroots level.
