The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is set to integrate artificial intelligence and data analytics into its curriculum. This initiative aims to equip the thousands of students pursuing the CA program with essential skills for the future.
The Committee for Review of Education and Training (CRET) has been formed to examine and propose necessary changes. CRET is expected to finalize its recommendations by December 2026, covering the CA curriculum, practical training, soft skills, and assessments.
These curriculum updates, which will incorporate emerging technological and professional aspects, are anticipated to be implemented starting from 2028. ICAI President Prasanna Kumar D stressed that AI is not merely a subject but a fundamental necessity for future chartered accountants.
