Hindu Americans Lead US Education: 70% Hold Bachelor's Degrees

In the United States, the Hindu community stands out as the most educated, with a substantial majority holding bachelor's degrees or higher qualifications. Recent data indicates that 70% of individuals within the Hindu community have achieved at least a bachelor's degree. This educational benchmark is double the national average for US adults, which stands at 35%.

Comparatively, other religious groups show varied educational attainment. While 65% of Jews also hold college degrees, evangelical Protestants show 29% and members of historically Black Protestant denominations show 24%. Overall, about 38.7% of US adults aged 25 and older held bachelor's degrees or higher as of late 2025. Women have surpassed men in educational achievement, with 40.1% holding degrees. Asian communities broadly lead in academic attainment, with nearly 60% holding degrees.
