Summary
- Headteacher allegedly exposed himself with trousers down.
- Colleague felt 'worthless' and 'awful' after incident.
- Teacher received inappropriate sexual comments and photos.

Serious misconduct allegations have been leveled against James Richards, a former headteacher at Cadle Primary School in Swansea. A hearing at the Education Workforce Council (EWC) heard testimony from former colleagues detailing alleged incidents of indecent exposure and inappropriate sexual remarks. One colleague recounted walking into Richards' office to find him with his trousers down and erect, a situation that left her feeling "worthless" and "awful."
Further testimonies revealed that Richards allegedly made inappropriate comparisons of a colleague's breasts to his wife's and showed a colleague a picture of his penis on his mobile phone. These incidents reportedly caused significant distress, with one former colleague stating she felt panicked and "uneasy."
Richards formally faced suspension in September 2021 and was dismissed in 2024. He has not attended or responded to the EWC hearings, with all allegations taken as denied. The professional standards panel hearing is ongoing, with further evidence expected.
