As of September 8, 2026, a substantial 2,212 seats in medical and dental colleges throughout Gujarat remain unoccupied after the first round of admissions. The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate and Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPMEC) has initiated a second counselling round.
This new counselling phase caters to 16,196 eligible candidates, including 234 new registrants for the 2026-27 academic year. Online choice filling for this round is scheduled from September 7 to September 11.
The available seats span government, grant-in-aid, and self-financed institutions. This includes vacancies from NRI and PwD quotas, seats due to candidates not reporting, and 50 recently approved MBBS seats for Ananya College of Medicine and Research.
