Shiseido Co. is bringing confidence and self-expression to visually impaired students through its unique "guide makeup" techniques. Developed in 2019, these methods teach individuals with visual impairments how to apply makeup independently.
Recently, four junior high and high school students at Niigata Yotsuba Gakuen participated in a special class. Representatives from Shiseido provided personalized instruction, guiding students to use their fingers as tactile guides for precise application of products like eyebrow pencils and lipstick.
The students learned comprehensive skincare routines and makeup application, from cleansing to final touches. The experience was met with beaming smiles and a significant boost in confidence, with one student expressing excitement about applying makeup independently when socializing.
