The Department of School Education and Literacy has launched "Green Summer Camps" across India to promote environmental consciousness among students. Running from June 5 to June 30, the program is part of the "Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE" campaign, initiated to coincide with World Environment Day 2026. Schools are organizing experiential activities centered around the seven Mission LiFE themes.
These themes include adopting healthy lifestyles, sustainable food systems, reducing e-waste and general waste, saving energy, conserving water, and eliminating single-use plastics. The initiative is designed to offer students practical engagement with environmental issues, fostering a deeper connection with nature.
Participation involves schools uploading details of their conducted activities onto a dedicated portal. This effort aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020, aiming to instill a strong sense of environmental responsibility through hands-on learning experiences.
