Summary

- She missed part of the exam due to unforeseen medical reasons.
- The university granted the opportunity after a high court intervention.
A student from Goa Medical College has been granted a reprieve by Goa University, allowing her to retake her third-year MBBS Part II supplementary examination. The student had approached the Bombay High Court after encountering insurmountable medical challenges during the April-May 2025 examination period, which prevented her from completing the papers.
Responding to the student's plight, Goa University, through its counsel, informed the high court that it would provide an additional opportunity to sit for the exam. The university stated that a new exam schedule would be communicated to the student in due course, allowing her adequate time for preparation.
The Bombay High Court, noting the university's submission, concluded the proceedings. The court clarified that its decision was based on the university's undertaking and that the broader issues raised by the student were not adjudicated upon during this hearing.
