The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 examination dates have been announced by IIT Guwahati. The exam is scheduled to occur on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. It will be conducted in a computer-based format across multiple centers nationwide, with two shifts scheduled daily.
The morning shift will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, and the afternoon shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates are strongly advised to arrive at the examination center 60 to 90 minutes prior to their reporting time to complete necessary verification processes.
Essential for entry are a printed admit card on A4 paper and an original, valid photo identity proof matching registration details. Biometric verification will also be conducted. Prohibited items include mobile phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices. Rough sheets will be provided, and candidates must write their names and registration numbers on them.
