P. Manimaran, who previously worked as a loadman, now serves as a revenue inspector and dedicates his weekends to providing free civil service coaching.
His initiative, named after Abdul Kalam, operates two centers in Madurai and Tharaikudi, Ramanathapuram. These centers offer classes and mock tests every weekend, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder students' aspirations for government jobs.
Manimaran, having experienced financial hardship himself, began this venture in 2018 to guide underprivileged students. The program has since trained over 1,000 individuals, with 33 achieving success in Group II and Group IV examinations.
Recently, former beneficiaries who secured government positions have returned to volunteer as coaches. The centers are also expanding their offerings to include coaching for UPSC and Group I examinations.
