The Delhi government has officially notified the admission schedule for entry-level classes in private schools for the upcoming 2026-27 academic session. Prospective parents can begin submitting application forms from December 4, with the deadline for submission set for December 27. Schools are mandated to upload admission criteria and points for open seats by November 28, ensuring transparency throughout the process.
The Directorate of Education has outlined a clear timeline for the subsequent stages. Details of all applicants and their awarded points will be uploaded by January 9 and January 16, respectively. The much-anticipated first list of selected students and the waiting list will be published on January 23. Parents will have a window from January 24 to February 3 to query point allocations, followed by the issuance of the second list on February 9. The entire admission process is slated to conclude by March 19.
Furthermore, the DoE has reiterated compliance with previously abolished criteria and emphasized adherence to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. Age criteria for nursery, KG, and Class One have been clarified, with a maximum of one month's age relaxation permissible at the head of school level. Transparency is paramount, with any draws of lots requiring parental presence and video recording. Charging capitation fees or forcing prospectus purchases is prohibited; only a non-refundable Rs 25 registration fee is allowed.
